The Texas Renaissance Festival opens its season with an Oktoberfest-themed weekend, dressing its permanent village grounds in old-Bavaria trappings as the King and Queen kick off the run. Sausage and beer take the lead alongside the festival's usual stages, shops and performers. It is the first of eight themed weekends rather than a standalone Oktoberfest, so visitors get a renaissance faire wearing Bavarian clothes.
