The Los Angeles Zoo turns its grounds over to a Bavarian-themed weekend each September, with oompah bands playing on the hour and German-inspired food carts set up among the animal exhibits. Keeper talks and seasonal decor run alongside lawn games, a braid bar and a giant ribbon tunnel aimed at younger visitors. Entry is covered by a regular zoo ticket, so it functions as a themed overlay on an ordinary day at the zoo rather than a separate gated festival.
